Big Show Free Agency Rules

  • Each Big Show club may have three nominations out on a player at any one time.  Once one of their players that they nominated signs, they may nominate another player.  However, at no time may they have more than three players nominated who are still being bid on.  There is one caveat to that.
    • There will be a maximum of 72 players that will be allowed to be bid on at any one time.  If you notice that another club has not used their three total nominations that they are allotted at any one time, you may petition the Commissioner's Office to nominate more players, even if it takes you over your three nominations, and so long as it does not take us over the 72 player maximum limit mentioned above.
  • ALL BIDS ARE IRREVOCABLE.  Once you submit a bid, you may not rescind that bid under any circumstances!!
  • Each club may ask for an extension to a deadline on EACH player one time.  As long as you are NOT the high bidder on that player you may extend the deadline another 48 hours.  The procedure for doing this though constitutes that you must justify your extension to the Commissioner's Office.  For instance, you must declare to the Commissioner's Office why you want the extension.  Examples would be that you are waiting on a trade, or you need more time because you are trying to sign another player of like kind and if you miss out on that other player, you want to enter the bidding on the player you are asking the extension for.
    • Here is a more detailed example.  You are bidding on David Wright and there are three other clubs interested and the bidding is going back and forth.  If you miss out on Wright, you want to enter the bidding on Ryan Zimmerman.  However, Zimmerman's deadline to sign expires tomorrow and Wright's bidding is going to continue to go on well past Zimmerman's deadline.  So, you petition the Commissioner's Office stating that you want to use your one time extension on Zimmerman because you want to wait out the Wright situation first.  The Commissioner's Office will grant the 48-hour extension based on that scenario.
  • PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MAY ONLY USE THE EXTENSION ONCE, PER PLAYER.  You may use extensions on ALL players that you are not the high bidder on but only once per player.
  • Bids will be submitted in the form of points if it's a major league offer and salary if it's a minor league offer.
    • Example.  16 points will be read as a major league offer and $500,000 will be read as a minor league offer.
      • Please note that the league minimum in 2014 is $500,000 so a bid less than $500,000 will have to be raised to reach the league minimum.
        • All minor league offers DO NOT count against your payroll until the player is added to the 40-man roster.
          • One other note on minor league free agents.  Any player that signs a minor league contract prior to the Rule 5 Draft will be eligible to be drafted in the Rule 5 Draft in December.
  • Initial bids on players last at least 120 hours.  Any bids that are topped extend the deadline 48 hours.  For instance, if Club A bids 10 points on November 11th at 12:02pm then the deadline is not until November 16th at 12:02pm.  If Club B bids 11 points on November 12th at 1:27pm, the deadline is still not until November 16th at 12:02pm because the initial and required 120 hours have not passed yet.  However, if Club B were to bid 11 points on November 16th at 12:01pm then the deadline is extended 48 hours to November 18th at 12:01pm.  This is because the bid would have passed the initial 120 hour window, creating a new and necessary 48 hour window.
  • All bids, deadlines and signings are to be policed by the league and you must notify the Commissioner's Office if you have signed a player or see an illegal bid.
